Layer it up!
We find with our family, the trick is to layer your clothing. Young or old, it works...plus you can always take off a layer if you're too warm! :)

it is easier to check than to thaw
Check cheeks frequently in cold weather, especially in a brisk wind. Children's cheeks may look rosy but if they feel cold or rigid, frostbite is not far behind.

Tips for the really cold days!
Hi Everyone,
On the really cold days, I put our family's mitts, scarves and hats in the dryer for a couple of minutes ( I have an energy star dryer). It makes the first steps outside in the blistering cold a little easier!
Keep warm...

SOUP IT UP!
A bowl of fresh homemade soup is always a MUST! It gives good energy and a nice, warm feeling before braving the cold! Always keep your extremeties warm (just like my own mother used to say!) - hat, mitts and good boots.

keeping toasty
I warm up our outdoor wear on our hot water radiators. Once they cool off outside you're already warm from shovelling, playing.......

keeping warm
If I have to spend a long time outside I always make sure I am wearing my "long johns" underneath my pants. I will do that for my daughter as well. Oh and we all love our hot water bottles to keep our beds nice and warm during the winter!

orange_kimono.jpgCreated by two moms from Vancouver BC, Westcoast Baby makes practical and stylish baby clothes and accessories. The Infant Kimono Wrap immediately drew me in. Dressing a newborn can be very stressful, especially for new parents. The kimono makes getting baby dressed easy and diaper changes a breeze. You can buy Westcoast Baby gear in Montreal at Bummis and Rose ou Blue or buy directly from their website (check out the Minkee Fur Lined Kimonos for toddlers).
