The Internet is awash with unsavory material for young children but try as we might it’s tough to shelter our preschoolers from the big bad computer forever. My daughter loves her time online and with a little research we have found some really great sites that are not only safe for young eyes they are really fun too!!
If you are a Mac user and have a young child who just loves to press buttons and move the mouse around I highly recommend Alpha Baby, it’s an application that allows your baby to type and click to her hearts content without causing any damage to your computer (renaming files, etc). Each time she presses a key or clicks the mouse a letter or shape appears. Best of all it’s free although donations are appreciated.

I hate to admit it but I am a coffee addict, worse, I like my coffees to go. Somehow the coffee I make at home is never as wonderful as one made by someone else and poured into a paper cup. Now, I do carry some guilt when using a single use paper cup, but while I have tried to remember to tote along my thermos there are always situations where I either forget or simply cannot bring it along with me.
Enter the Cup Kozy, this inexpensive gadget does its part to keep single use cardboard coffee sleeves out of landfills. Cup Kozys are handmade, stylish and above all practical. Unlike other reusable sleeves I have come across in the past, the Cup Kozy rolls up to about the size of a lip balm tube and with it’s handy clip can easily be attached to your key chain or wallet ready for your next cup of joe. The Cup Kozy is a steal at under $10 shipping included. Check out the full product line here: www.cupkozy.com/ and cupkozy.etsy.com
Does your child have one of these creatures lurking around her toy box? If she does you may want to take it away or at the very least put it way out of reach. The toys have been recalled because the button eyes are coming off and posing a choking hazard. No incidents have been reported yet but all the same Old Navy is asking you to bring them all back for a full refund. Bring them back before July 1st and you’ll also receive a $5.00 Old Navy appreciation card toward a future Old Navy purchase. For the full recall and details click here.
Created by two moms from Vancouver BC, Westcoast Baby makes practical and stylish baby clothes and accessories. The Infant Kimono Wrap
immediately drew me in. Dressing a newborn can be very stressful,
especially for new parents. The kimono makes getting baby dressed easy
and diaper changes a breeze. You can buy Westcoast Baby gear in
Montreal at Bummis and Rose ou Blue or buy directly from their website (check out the Minkee Fur Lined Kimonos
for toddlers).
